About Wil Bigio

Wil uses their chosen media of watercolor, ink, and digital art to blur boundaries. They believe that animals can be human, that sharp lines can feel soft, that clothing can be our skin, and that individuality is found in connection with others.

A large part of Wil’s artistic practice consists of drawing in their pocket sketchbook on the subway. This practice puts Wil in a constant dialogue with the city and the people around them.

Inspiration Wil receives from drawing one stranger may transfer over to their drawing of the next, or to a drawing of a fantasy creature. In this way, all of Wil's art is part of a continuum of loving, attentive observation of the world around them.

In addition to adoring the people and places of their native New York City, Wil has a deep love of hiking and the outdoors, a lifelong interest in religion, and a profound admiration for music and the people who make it.
